4000kg + rubbish collected - over 600 Rangers have helped us keep Byron's beaches clean. We do weekly beach clean ups at Wategos, Belongil & Suffolk Park (plus also Main Beach & The Wreck)
Helped launch Wildlife Hospital - 100+ Rangers were involved in preparing the site and doing landscaping to launch and maintain the site for the Hospital. Rangers also donate time to do graphic design, run events & e-commerce support for our partners at the Hospital
Planted 20,000+ trees - 400+ Rangers have helped plant trees in rainforest, dry schlerophyl (koala habitat), dune / coastal and farm areas to regenerate the ecosystems
Largest conservation group by numbers in the Byron Shire. We have had over 3000+ locals do a Ranger project
Dune Care - planted over 5000 grass plants - 100+ Rangers + 25 Junior Rangers were involved in caring for our coastal sand dune areas
Turtle conservation during the turtle nesting season between November and March, 150+ Rangers plus 25 Junior Rangers were involved in doing citizen science projects to identify new turtle nest sites and collect data to protect our beaches and sand dunes
Top 3 "Ranger group" in Australia - After only 18 months of doing beach cleans, we were named the Top 3 most active Ranger group in Australia caring for our beaches (Source: Tangaroa Blue: who manage the National Marine Debris database where we submit our weekly beach clean data into)
We helped launch the first music event since Covid. We were part of a team of over 500 stakeholders to create a super successful event that set the standard for how events ideally should be run to help Keep Byron Beautiful
Hundreds of new friendships were created between our Rangers…. HEAPS !!!

Successfully delivered a Junior Ranger Education program - FIRST in its kind in ALL of NSW.... Nothing like it anywhere in NSW where we co-created educational and experiential Field Trips with primary school teachers mapped against the NSW Curriculum to make conservation learning fun and engaging for students
Wildlife Sanctuary - we are partners with the soon to be launched Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. This has the potential to be one of the top 3 most famous wildlife projects in Australia in time.....
